halloween 2013. hard to believe it has come and gone. the memories have been made and now it's time to pack up those decorations for next year. no surprise that when it comes to organizing and packing away decorations in my house, i keep it simple and easy.
first thing i do is gather up everything halloween (or whatever holiday i'm packing away) into one area…
this is a good time to pick out items you'd like to donate, items that need repair or lights that need replacing. once i have the keeps huddled together, they are stored away in clear containers. i love clear containers because it's easy to see what's inside. that means you don't need any fancy labels.
i also buy containers that have a color-coded lid. for example, for halloween my bins have a purple handle….
for fragile items, i wrap them with leftover wrapping or tissue paper from that holiday…
for the smaller items, like ground stakes for outdoor holiday decorations, i use clear zippered bags…
oh yea!...
finally, the bins are stored away together until next year…

time to get out those thanksgiving bins!
