It's our first Christmas season in this house, so it took me a *little* while to sort out the decorations. Funny how a change of scenery (new home) can completely throw you for a decorating loop. After 6 years of living in Arkansas and decorating the old house, it took me a few weeks to rummage through everything here in the new California house…and figure out where it would all fit in. Or not. I'm happy to say I was able to keep almost everything.
There is nothing better than decorating for Christmas…especially with little ones in the house.
Without much more chatter, I present to you our 2013 Christmas Home Decor Tour!
Starting in front…
With the driveway and front yard under construction (you'll see later this week!), I went light on the outside decor. But still bright and colorful!...
I found the beautiful live wreaths at a local nursery...
The poinsettias? From Costco!...
Moving inside, here is my kitchen bar…
I made this easy and cute pinecone garland last year…
This year I have it laying on the kitchen bar…
Kitchen table area…
I've had these wreaths for years and used to hang them on the front double doors in Arkansas. This year, they are hanging inside and I added sparkly snowflakes in the middle...
This Santa makes me smile every year. He has the bushiest beard...
In the living room…
The adult tree in the living room…
Some of my favorite ornaments on the adult tree? Of course I had to get this beauty…now that I'm back home again...
My 9 year old's little baby handprint…so precious to me...
Did someone ask Santa for a cat this year? I found him under the tree this morning…
Table between the kitchen and playroom…
The playroom and kids tree…
I love looking back at all of those Santa pictures. Even when the kids are screaming in the photo, it's one of the best memories ever...
Our house is definitely going to get warmer this holiday season too…because it turns out we are hosting everyone here on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Bring on the craziness!
I hope you enjoyed seeing my little Christmas decor tour here at the new house. Since I am still homesick for the old place, here are a few links to Christmas decor tours of the past.
And because no one does Christmas decor better than my friends in the South, here's a look at some southern Christmas decorations I shared last year…
Have you finished decorating and hanging those outdoor lights? Share your link in the comments below so I can swing by and take a look!
Have a great day!
