A Little Privacy, Please...

Sure, I'm living in California now…and the general public opinion of Californian's is that they are open and liberal and free and vocal.  Especially in San Francisco where people are known to ride their bikes and walk the streets completely naked. Although I am a San Francisco native, I don't have an interest in prancing around nude…and trust me when I say, you don't want to see any of this.

So, this was taking it a bit far and it was time to get the home improvement job done. Once and for all!

You see, in the master bathroom there is a large window over the free-standing bathtub and adjacent to the wide open shower...

The previous owners had thin, white sheers hanging as a window covering. I took the sheers down during the painting process and didn't put them back because water from the shower and tub was spraying out onto them.  Honestly, they weren't really my style anyway. The old, brassy chandelier is a-gonner too...

For the last few months I've been showering in here without a window covering. It was time for a little privacy. Why? Because just outside this window is the walking trail in front of the house. Trust me when I say, people could easily see into the bathroom and shower. Yes, I learned the hard way one morning - eeeeek

The rest of the house has standard white wood blinds, so as a quick-fix I measured the window and ordered a blind to match those throughout the house. I installed it yesterday and let out a huge sigh of relief when I hopped into the shower this morning. Finally….a little privacy!…

Sure, the kids will still walk in because they inevitably need mommy as soon as my foot touches the water, but the general public won't.

Now not only will I have some privacy while in the shower, I can also finally take a long bath…

I desperately need one this week…and without the rest of my neighborhood knowing I am taking one.

Eventually I will add a pretty window cover over the blinds. Still searching for my inspiration for this bathroom and also need to get those wall hangings up. All in time, but this is one major home improvement project knocked off my list!

Have a great day!
