Lamps Plus 2013 Best Home Blog Awards...I'm nominated!

i can't believe that 2 monday's in a row i'm starting off my week announcing blog award nominations (is this blog award season?). last week it was the circle of home management moms blog nomination. this week? Lamps Plus has selected Simply Organized as one of twenty-five best home blogs in the DIY category.

i received the e-mail about the nomination late last week and sat in shock. i guess what shocks me more than anything is the company i'm with. centsational girl? how can i compete with kate?! her DIY skills put mine to shame. i know this sounds cliche, but it's true....it's an honor to be recognized and nominated. all of the hard work put in by bloggers? the hours are countless. anytime someone or a company recognizes your work, it's a great little pat on the back / confidence booster.

soooooo, here's the details about the nominees, voting and awards. including an award for the voters! yes, friends, you too have a chance to win something!

Lamps Plus is recognizing and rewarding the Best Home Blogs and have broken down the blogs into four categories...

interior design

DIY 

lifestyle

and family. 

each category has twenty-five awesome nominees. that's 100 blogs to check out and explore, if you're looking for some new blog reading. i've discovered a few new blogs myself...and am super proud of my blog friends that have been nominated. namely Tobi Fairley (a personal friend and fellow arkansas girl!), Cassie at Hi Sugarplum, and Megan over at Honey We're Home. way to go ladies!

starting today through November 15, visitors to the Lamps Plus Facebook Page will be invited to vote in four different categories for their favorite home blog. individuals will be able to vote for their favorite blogs once every 24 hours. 

the highest vote-getter in each of the four categories will receive a $1,000 shopping spree from Lamps Plus. in addition, one lucky voter will receive a $500 shopping spree too! woot!

you can vote right here on the Lamps Plus Facebook Page. i'd appreciate your vote very much...but, truthfully, my house would appreciate your vote even more. the kitchen eating area and living room both have NO lighting. yes, i just admitted it....

and of course, because i am so indecisive and can't find the perfect lighting (and door knobs!) 95% of the house lighting looks like this....

lovely, right? can't believe i just shared that confession with the blogosphere. needless to say, the lighting shopping spree would come in handy over here!

happy monday, friends! hope you had a great weekend. it was a busy one as usual over here. between the hussle and bussle, i checked my blog e-mail and felt warm fuzzies. this blog has been an incredibly fun outlet for me outside of motherhood. daily, i am blessed and grateful to know you're reading along or commenting. while a small business of my own is in the works, this blog will always be my true love.

so i was thrilled to find out that simply organized was nominated again this year for the circle of moms top 25 home management mom blogs!

last year i made it into the top 25, which was awesome enough. but then the staff over at circle of moms did an internal vote and chose me as one of a few "blogs to watch". eeeek, i hope i lived up to that title. it's been a little crazy pants over here in the last year! i've been ever so grateful for your and their acknowledgement and have shared my thanks all year on the sidebar...
